Back to School

Tiny-Mini Back to School Portrait Sessions

As a mom of five, going through this whole COVID-shutdown-kids-stuck-at-home-everyone-has-cabin-fever-mess, the last thing on my mind were the kids’ school pictures, so I know it’s not something most other parents thought of either. My photographer brain brought it up to me last June though, because I was worried for other parents. I can just grab my camera and tell the kids we’re going to take their school photos and 30 minutes later we’re done, but other parents don’t have that. I used to forget about them until the kids brought the flyer home in their class folders and I would debate on which package I was going to order (tell me I’m not alone with this!). Looking back, it seems like a simpler time when that’s the type of thing I worried about lol!

I don’t want families to miss out this year because schools aren’t open! Yeah, we all take that “first day of school” pic on our cell phone and share it on social media, but I’m talking about the ones you hang on the wall and send to grandma or extended family in other states!

2020 has been a whole, huge bucket of suck, am I right? This can be one thing that doesn’t! I am trying to look at it in a positive way, it’s a good opportunity for all of us! If you’ve only ever had the photos taken at school with the blue background, this is a great time to branch out and meet with a photographer (even if it’s not me), personally, and get those classic photos of your kid either outside or in a studio! You get to be there and watch the action and don’t have to wait weeks and weeks for the to be sent in the mail.

It’s also a great opportunity for your kids to get into their photo shoot! Even though these tiny-mini sessions are short, it can be fun for them to choose what pose they want or if they want to stand or sit or have their favorite stuffy with them. It also can show them that photo sessions don’t have to be stressful, they can be fun, so hopefully they will want to do it again in the future!

Personally, I love these sessions because I know how important they are! I love being able to give families affordable photos and new experiences. Every year when I change out my kids’ photos, I find the prints of the past years and they make my heart happy. I want to be a part of that feeling for you too!

I had so much fun with the first round of these, I’m so excited to offer another! The dates I have available are limited and I don’t think I will be doing another set this fall, so make sure you book quick, or if you’ve already had them done, share! Sharing is caring and I know there are others out there that haven’t got them yet!
