An Intimate Fall Wedding | Salem, Oregon

It’s not very often that I am the photographer on someone’s big day, but it does happen! I have been the main or associate photographer for a handful of weddings over the years & I have to tell you I live for the details. All those small setups or meaningful decor are where I get to be creative & show off all of their hard work on planning this ONE day! I am here to show off this couple’s amazing day that was planned well before COVID, (which changed their plans), on top of that, it was pouring down rain, but neither of those things stopped them from having a beautiful intimate ceremony that I am so glad I got to witness!

The First Look-

It is really something else to be there when the groom sees his bride for the first time. The smiles, the hugs, kisses & tears. The moment where the world around them falls away & it’s just the two of them, a moment that they will not forget.

As a photographer & someone who has helped plan a bunch of weddings for friends & family, I highly suggest that you plan time for a first look! Whether your wedding is big with hundreds of guests, or small with just family, you will not regret it!

The Florals-

This is one of my favorite parts. I love love love flowers & bouquets & floral decor! Again, it’s one of those details that I live for. From the smallest boutonniere to the bride’s bouquet to the backdrop. These fall colors went together stunningly! The creamy white roses, the soft pink peonies, the mild orange & salmon colored fire-burst dahlias & mums. The accent of eucalyptus & lamb’s ear really pulled it together. Even the tiny sprigs of baby’s breath throughout & in her hair!

The Details-

Yup, I’m gonna say it again, I’m a sucker for the details. I will take photos of every little tiny thing & I loooove the sentimental, mushy, lovey-dovey stuff that makes you go awwwww! They did an amazing job setting almost everything up inside even though the ceremony was supposed to be outside (same thing happened on my big day too)! But if you know Oregon, you know you have to be flexible, cause the weather here will change in a split second & it doesn’t care what you’re doing!

Check out all these neat details that made this super intimate wedding so special!

The Ceremony-

If I’m at a wedding, you can bet there will be tears in my eyes at least once, including this one. I’m so glad COVID & the rain did not stop these two from tying the knot! Even though I’m walking around all over the place, getting photos from every angle I can, I’m still listening & get all choked up when they finally get to say their vows to each other. I could feel all the love & warm fuzzies emanating from these two & everyone around them. Also, I really love the unity sand tradition! It makes for an awesome keepsake!

The Afterwards-

I have to say this couple made me laugh so much I left there and my face hurt! It was seriously like being around family, everyone was so laid back & plans were just go-with-the-flow; no bridezilla here! The comments & silly faces had me busting up from behind the camera, from cutting an enormous piece of cake, to doing the robot before the first dance. I hope everyone has this much fun on their wedding day!

-Congratulations!

Congratulations to RJ and Hannah!

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your amazing day & capture these awesome memories for you!
