10th Anniversary Cultural Studio Session | Salem, Oregon
I just wanted to share some photos from a recent session that I was pretty excited about doing. I was contacted before Christmas to do a 10th anniversary session by someone who said she would be wearing her cultural dress. I was instantly intrigued because I love different cultures, their food, and their clothes! I was born & raised in Salem, Oregon so we don’t see a lot of people walking around in cultural clothing. She sent me a few examples from MP Luxury Bridal (which are beautiful btw) & I was totally in!
Meet Raj and Samjhana!
These two were married in Kathmandu, Nepal on January 3rd, 2012.
They have lived in Oregon for the past 3 years & have two beautiful kids together. They wanted this specific shot so that they could recreate the same pose for future anniveraries. Isn’t that a great idea?! Then they can look back over the years & see how they have changed, but the pose is the same. It was such an honor for me to be able to do this as a photographer.
I love documenting important moments like this for people & I think it’s pretty neat when it is a culture that is different than my own. I think it just opens my eyes & my heart to more people & I love that!
Because it was the beginning of January, we thought it would be best to book The Gray Lab studio in downtown Salem & it was perfect! They showed up with all kinds of different ideas of what they wanted & the session flew by! Ok, ok, let’s just take a look at a few of the shots-
Isn’t she just gorgeous?!
I love this shot! I don’t even remember what happened, but it was obviously funny lol!
Oh btw, that color pink, it’s my fav, so I wasn’t mad when she showed up in it! Plus the gold just pops ya know? & did you see those rings!
Let’s all just say Happy 10th Anniversary to this amazing couple & their beautiful family!
As always, if you ever need photos done, for whatever reason, let me know!
I can’t wait to hear from you!
